Plan for the New Year
Even though the holidays are coming to a close, the New Year is just beginning. We hope that you were able to experience joy this holiday season, and even learn a little bit more about yourself. As you plan for 2017, know that there is hope for the future. The New Year is a time of new beginnings.
Set new goals. Whether it’s reordering your finances or to taking up a new hobby, set goals for yourself that reflect what is important to you.
Be proactive. Join a divorce recovery group or see a counselor. Surround yourself with people who can encourage you and provide helpful advice.
Set boundaries and prioritize. Don’t over commit yourself. Prioritize the things that are most important and know that it is okay to say no to some things. It is also important to set boundaries with your spouse/former spouse, your kids, and others—as well as yourself.
As you think about the coming year, know that there will still be hard times, but you will live through them. You may even be powerfully transformed through the process.
